WORLD OF REPLICAS
AI Short Film: Shamanic Culture
Role: Concept Artist | Director | AI Visual Generation | Editor | Sound Design
In the future, species experience behavioral decline, gradually losing the ability to reproduce. Humanity relies on the shaman's ability to replicate life, resulting in a world filled with replicas. The film portrays a girl's journey to become a shaman goddess, ascending from the Lower World to Upper World. It explores the simulacra of generations of goddesses and their cycle of life.
This project triggers a philosophical and ethical debate on the relationship between technology and nature. As a species evolves, its survival behaviors might fundamentally shift, potentially leading to a reduced interest in giving new birth. In the future, humans might try to alter established natural laws and recreate the rituals used by shamans to summon spirits.
Yet, what we ultimately create is only a replica—a world of imitations that resemble the outward form and functionality of natural life but lack its soul and ecological intricacies. These replicas are unable to capture the intimate and divine connection that nature has with humans.
Shamanic drum: crafted from the wood of the sacred tree.
The sound of shaman drum is to travel in between upper and lower worlds, the primary gateway to worlds beyond this physical dimension.
Transition between generation of goddess: The older generation of shaman goddesses passes her power to the new generation of goddesses through dance and motion.
The previous goddess vanishes, leaving only the new generation of goddess, and she has gained the power to replicate all life on earth.
Nature symbolism: The female body reproduce life, and the shamanic goddess has the power of replica which symbolizes ancient fertility worship, reflecting nature's power to give birth to life.
The blood flowing from the goddess symbolizes her vitality; it nourishes the mountains, rivers, and lakes in the middle world. The process of creating life on Earth is also an act of self-sacrifice by the goddess, ultimately leading to her vanish.
