"Her Steps" is a fairytale of a dancer who performs a never-ending dance.Once, there was a little girl who longed to dance like her mother. Step by step, fall after fall, she practiced tirelessly, believing that effort would lead to mastery, that her struggle was uniquely her own.But as she perfected her movements, the world around her began to shift. The mirror revealed not just one, but countless versions of herself, all spinning in flawless synchronization. She was not a dancer—she was a process, an iteration, a model among thousands.
The human body embodies a dynamic aesthetic that can never be fully replicated. Humanity has sought to simulate and recreate motion perceived by the naked eye through various visual media across various dimensions—from symbols, Chinese characters, books, oil paintings, photographs, films, video games, to the AI models of today, which are now integrating all these mediums into one. This film explores the process of machine learning through the perspective of a human girl learning to dance, aiming to reconstruct the "Dance of Life" as defined by these evolving systems.
